Editor-in-Chief, Journal of Pain Clinicians of India
Welcome to the inaugural issue of the Journal of Pain Clinicians of India (JPCI).
As pain clinicians, we encounter genuinely interesting cases in our daily practice — presentations that teach us something, procedures that did not go quite the way the textbook suggested, and solutions we
arrived at only after careful thought. Too often, this knowledge stays within the department where it happened and is never shared with the wider community of pain physicians who could benefit from it.
JPCI exists to change that. We deliberately chose to make this a case-report-focused journal rather than a journal of theoretical or purely academic work. Our aim is practical, not theoretical: every case published
here should be one that a practising pain clinician can read in a few minutes and walk away having learned something they can apply to their very next patient.
We hope JPCI becomes a space where interesting, real-world pain-medicine cases from across India — and beyond — are documented, shared, and put to use, so that the lesson learned by one clinician benefits many
others.
We are grateful to our authors, reviewers, and the Indian Society of Pain Clinicians for making this first issue possible, and we look forward to receiving your cases for the issues ahead.
